United Stocks Jump

Shares of United parent company U-A-L rose 51 cents to 3-46 in
morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
The airline announced yesterday it will also retire 49 of its
larger aircraft and reduce its flight schedule by an additional 6
percent.
The airline has already cut more than 17-thousand jobs since
last year's terrorist attacks.
The company is trying to qualify for a one-point-eight (B)
billion dollar loan from the federal government.
