If your tax refund isn't quite what you expected, you could be the victim of a new law.
The law requires the state to see if refund recipients owe any court-ordered payments before cutting them a check.
The state expects to withhold about $2.5 million this year to taxpayers who are delinquent in payments in everything from speeding tickets to money for victim's assistance.
Taxpayers who feel their refunds were unfairly withheld can appeal.
