Police say a Springs teenager was raped on her way to school Thursday morning. A stranger grabbed the 14-year-old girl at a city bus stop, forced her into his car and assaulted her in the parking lot of a nearby restaurant. It happened in the 2700 block of East Fountain. She attends District 11 schools.
Police are looking for a suspect. They say he was driving a white four door car with a baby seat in the back. Police say the suspect was a Hispanic male, wearing fatigues. He may be in the military. School officials in District 11 have issued a bulletin to all high school and middle school principals warning them of the attack. To keep children safe, police recommend children walk in groups.
