The elderly man who walked away from a plane crash at Jefferson County Airport on Thursday has lost his battle for life.
Richard Wagner died at University of Colorado Hospital in Denver from his injuries. He was 78 years-old.
According to witnesses, Wagner was trying to land his single engine Piper Cherokee when it slid off the runway and burst into flames.
Emergency crews airlifted him to the burn unit after he crawled away from the wreckage.
