Wireless Wishes

From the state's byways to the information superhighway, state lawmakers are considering a proposal that would allow local governments to establish their own wireless networks as long as voters approve if tax dollars are used.

Senate Bill 152 allows the governments to install wireless antennas.

But opponents of the bill say municipalities should not compete with private businesses.

The bill goes before a house committee Tuesday.
