Two bills on cost cutting measures for prescription drugs are getting the thumbs up by a state senate committee.
One bill allows Colorado to join a multi-state drug purchasing pool that would negotiate for better drug prices for Medicaid programs.
The other bill creates a list of the most effective and cheapest drugs that would be offered to Medicaid patients.
The two bills could cut state drug spending by 2 percent but pharmaceutical companies say the bills could deny patients the drugs they need if they aren't on the list.
