Court documents show a woman in El Paso County confessed to running down an acquaintance with her car because the victim had sex with the suspect's common-law husband.
Sheriff's investigators say 28-year-old Meagan Holland fled the scene after running into 25-year-old Novella Clark sometime late Tuesday or early Wednesday in the town of Security.
A delivery man found Clark unconscious on the side of the road. She was in critical condition at a hospital.
Holland is suspected of attempted first-degree murder. She allegedly told investigators she used methamphetamine before driving the car.
