A preliminary hearing for three Fort Carson soldiers accused in the suffocation death of an Iraqi general will resume Wednesday.
The military closed the Article 32 hearing to the public in December on grounds that it would involve classified information.
The Denver Post appealed the decision, saying the hearing officer should have simply closed portions of the hearing involving classified material while keeping the rest open.
The U.S. Army Court of Criminal Appeals sided with the newspaper.
The hearing is for Chief Warrant Officer Jefferson Williams, Sergeant 1st Class William Sommer and Specialist Jerry Loper.
A hearing for Chief Warrant Officer Lewis Welshofer in the case will be held March 31st and April 1st.
