After a mild Saturday, temperatures to finish the weekend will be MUCH colder! A system to our west pushes into SE Colorado overnight. Snow showers will be possible by early Sunday morning across the I-25 corridor with a change to rain and snow showers through the afternoon. Accumulation should be minimal as most moisture looks to be light and temperatures will warm into the upper 30s and 40s through the afternoon. University of Colorado President Elizabeth Hoffman is hinting that a proposal to change tenure may be in the works, as a decision nears on whether to fire a controversial professor.
Hoffman fended off questions today about tenure, pointing out that the university's governing Board of Regents will meet Wednesday and Thursday. She says she doesn't want to "steal anyone's thunder," but won't elaborate.
CU's rules governing tenure were thrust into the spotlight by the firestorm over tenured professor Ward Churchill, who enraged many lawmakers by comparing some September eleventh victims to a notorious Nazi.
The university has scheduled an announcement Monday on whether it will start the process of firing Churchill.
University officials began a review of his academic work after his September eleventh comments made headlines.
He has said he would sue if he is fired.
