Sixteen of Colorado's 22 district attorneys will be forced out of office in two years by term limits.
Voters rejected a measure on the Tuesday ballot that would have exempted DA's from term limits. The vote was 65 percent against removing term limits and 35 percent in favor.
Some lawyers worry that term limits will make the DA's offices more political.
