Continuing to track rain/snow showers throughout southeast Colorado this morning as wet, gloomy and cool conditions continue. If you are hitting the roads in the higher elevation (Teller/Fremont/Custer/ Monument) make sure you allow a little extra time as some roads may be a little snow covered. Wet pavement remains everywhere else. We'll see rain/snow showers continue for most of our Monday, clearing out before midnight. Head on over to the "Weather" tab for a full look at the week ahead.
Looking for a place to practice your avalanche rescue skills?
Breckenridge Ski Resort has created the only avalanche transceiver practice site in Colorado.
The area allows skiers to practice in mock avalanches on Peak Eight in an area called Beacon Basin, which is about 10,000 square feet.
Breckenridge Ski Patrol will prepare the area each day by burying one to seven transceivers.
Probe poles will be available on site so skiers can practice searches. Skiers must bring their own beacons and replace the transceiver once they've located it.
