Seven months of wrangling and fighting now over for employees of King Soopers and City Market grocery stores.

About half of the 7,600 eligible workers turned in their ballots.

Sixty percent voted to accept a four-year deal with the stores' parent company, Kroger Corporation.

According to the union, workers will lose about 25 cents for every dollar and benefits they receive now. New hires will start working at less pay and will take longer to reach the top scale.

The new deal goes into effect at midnight Sunday.

Still no deal for employees of Safeway and Albertsons supermarkets.
