The ProRodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs has officially closed -- while board members decide what to do with it.
The hall and museum served as a tourist attraction and showcase for the nation's professional cowboys. But the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association says it's also been a money loser.
The P-R-C-A operated the Hall of Fame, and is now exploring possible marketing options.
Inductees into the Hall of Fame include 167 people and 22 animals.
The association sanctions nearly 700 rodeos each year, and opened the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 1979. The complex was expanded in 1996.
The Hall is located next to the national headquarters of the P-R-C-A.
