There could be a settlement in the works between NBA star Kobe Bryant and the woman who's accused him of rape.
Attorneys involved in the case acknowledged today what was kept under wraps last week: that a long-awaited deposition by the Los Angeles Lakers guard scheduled Friday was called off after the woman's lawyers arrived in Orange County, California.
It was to have been the first time Bryant answered questions under oath.
The now 20-year-old alleged victim filed a lawsuit against Bryant in Denver federal court last year, seeking unspecified damages for mental anguish, humiliation and scorn she says she's suffered since meeting Bryant near Vail in 2003.
A criminal sexual assault case against Bryant was dropped in September.
