Salazar Begins Next Chapter

Ken Salazar is getting ready to leave office as Colorado attorney general for his new job as the state's new U.S. senator. As he wrapped up things Thursday, Salazar discussed some of the important ongoing issues in his office.

One is his staff's appeal of a court ruling against publicizing the grand jury report on the investigation into the University of Colorado football recruiting program.

Salazar also hopes his successor will support completion of a study of the Columbine school shootings and archiving of documents and evidence related to the 1999 massacre.

Governor Owens has nominated U.S. Attorney John Suthers to complete the two years of Salazar's second term. A replacement must be confirmed by the state Senate.
