After a mild Saturday, temperatures to finish the weekend will be MUCH colder! A system to our west pushes into SE Colorado overnight. Snow showers will be possible by early Sunday morning across the I-25 corridor with a change to rain and snow showers through the afternoon. Accumulation should be minimal as most moisture looks to be light and temperatures will warm into the upper 30s and 40s through the afternoon. The main impact will be the cold along with winds gusting up to 40 mph at times. Click on the 'Weather' tab for more...
An assistant U.S. attorney who directed a government investigation into Qwest has been named acting U.S. attorney for Colorado.
The appointment of William Leone takes effect January 1st.
Leone fills the spot vacated by former U.S. Attorney John Suthers, whom Governor Owens nominated to finish the last two years of the term of Colorado Attorney General Ken Salazar. Salazar was elected to the U.S. Senate in November.
It will be up to President Bush to name a new U.S. attorney.
Leone led a government investigation that led to charges against four former Qwest executives accused of scheming to improperly inflate Qwest revenues. Two men pleaded guilty to lesser charges, and two were acquitted.
