A suspected serial rapist facing 80 felony charges -- including sexual assault and attempted murder -- will be formally advised today in Denver District Court.
Thirty-five-year-old Brent J.-Brents is suspected of attacking at least five women and two girls in Denver. Most of the attacks occurred during a week-long crime spree earlier this month.
Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey filed formal charges yesterday that included sexual assault, attempted first-degree murder, kidnapping and other violent crimes.
The charges came on the same day police in nearby Aurora announced Brents is a "person of interest" in the sexual assault and robbery of a 49-year-old woman on February Fourth.
Brents is being held on a 25-(M)-million-dollar bond. He was arrested last Friday in Glenwood Springs after stealing a car from one of his alleged victims.
