At least four-families are out of their homes tonight, after an afternoon apartment fire. Flames broke out at 3985 East Bijou. That's the timber lane apartments. Fire crews got the call around 12:30 this afternoon, and were able to knock down the flames in about 10-minutes. It took quite a bit longer to get the fire under control. Investigators say it started either in or around a vacant apartment, and quickly spread. An investigation to determine the cause is underway.
