Centennial Airport is in the middle of a dispute between 2 of the state's Congressmen and the FAA.
The Congressmen, including local Representative Joel Hefley, urged the FAA to speed up maintenance funding 2 years ago.
Federal funding was slowly restored after it was cut off to Centennial because of its policy to refuse passenger service.
Since then, one runway has deteriorated and other damages are still concerns.
The airport's executive director says the airfield's condition will likely not be an issue in the investigation into the 2 recent crashes.
