Pueblo residents will soon have the chance to hear from the Defense Department on how it plans to clean up the Pueblo Chemical Depot.
U.S. Representative John Salazar has invited D.O.D. officials to reveal clean-up plans Wednesday at a public meeting of the Citizens Advisory Commission.
The original plan by the D.O.D. was to build a $1.7 billion destruction system at the depot.
But critics say the Pentagon has tried to divert the money from the project for the past 2 years.
President Bush's proposed budget nearly eliminates any funding that would go to destroying mustard agent weapons.
