hey coward who posted as platoon leader, and Men & Women in Uniform please give an educated response rather than Hannity style insults. If you truely are American soldiers, you would NEVER tell a citizen to leave this great country. Thier opinions are a bigger part of America than your bombs. You are guests of Colorado, the Military merely leases our land. Yes Carson needs serious updates, and better facilities, But it needs less fat contractors who leech off our Tax dollars. Soldiers can do half the work you hire out. They bring in Illegal Aliens to do jobs that your kids could be doing, rather than killing each other on the streets. If you cannot uphold your oath to the constitution, then maybe YOU need to leave this country, because you Obviously don't know what it stands for.

If your not goiung to post my rebuttal to the platoon leader, then please remove his comment as well. This is America, I didnt post anything unlawful, why did I get singled out? You have no issue with Carrie's comment, why is mine removed? If I dont get a reasonable response, I will make an issue of this.

What have I done for my country lately? Mmmm, Let me count the things I've done... I have given my Grandfathers to my country to fight your stupid wars, I recycle to keep my country clean, I donate money to my country when in need, I volunteer my time to the community, I pay my taxes, I take in foster children when they have no place to go, I write to my senator about problems and solutions pertaining to our community, I help military families find child care, I vote, and I can go on and on about what I do for my country and I do it for free. I don't get paid to fight the war! I suggest you shut your mouth and don't tell me where to move! I have every right to be here as you do! You joined the military for what reason? I don't have to join to help my country. I believe in peace, not war! May God help you all!

The post needs this money as much as the city of Colorado Springs needs the revenues that the Military personnel generate. Most of the buildings that remain on Ft. Carson are throwbacks from WWII and the Cold War era, most of which are still useable but need renovation. With the additional troops, they will need housing, office space as well as training space & storage. The people of Colorado Springs should welcome this influx of people and funds with open arms.

Okay, 170 million is too much for one base. What else could Fort Carson possibly need besides toilet seats? Do you know how much our country has paid towards the war already? More than enough and now more money for the base? This is disturbing! What about our homeless community? What about our kids? I see people sleeping in tents outside in the cold. I see kids getting in more trouble because there is nothing constructive for them to do here. I could put that 170 million to better use than construction for Fort Carson. I would build shelters and youth centers and know that our community is a safer and better place to live. I can't even get a job at the Post Office because they only hire veterans and military personel. HELLO! This city is only for military, so how fair is that to the civilians who live here? I'm so sick of this town. I can't wait to leave!

170 Million Dollars I wonder how many $50,000 toilets or $5,000 adjustable wrenches that will buy?
