An inmate assigned to kitchen work at the Limon Correctional Facility assaulted and killed a supervisor at the prison. State Corrections Department officials say 23-year-old Eric Autobee suffered head injuries. He was airlifted to Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, where he was pronounced dead at 12:30 p.m. The Corrections Department named inmate Edward Montour as the suspect in the death. He's serving a sentence of life without parole for a 1997 murder conviction from El Paso County, and is also serving a 48-year sentence for wrongs against a child. Governor Bill Owens expressed sympathy for the victim's family. An investigation is under way, and the Limon prison will be locked down this weekend. All programs and inmate visitation is canceled.
