Election Poll

A new poll shows incumbents in state offices leading their challengers.

Attorney General Ken Salazar and state Treasurer Mike Coffman enjoy sizable leads over their challengers while Secretary of State Donetta Davidson is in a statistical dead heat her challenger.

Davidson -- a Republican -- leads Democratic challenger Anthony Martinez 30 percent to 26 percent in the poll that has a margin of error of four-pont-four percentage points.

Talmey-Drake Research and Strategy conducted the poll of 500 likely voters earlier this month for the Rocky Mountain News and KCNC TV.

Salazar -- a Democrat -- leads Republican challenger Marti Allbright 43 percent to 24 percent. Coffman -- a Republican, leads Democratic state Senator Terry Phillips 36 percent to 24 percent.
