Pueblo-AP) -- Even more water agencies are considering joining
cloud-seeding projects this winter to stimulate snowfall and
alleviate drought conditions.
In Southern Colorado, several agencies plan to spend between
117-thousand dollars and 211-thousand dollars to seed winter storm
clouds at the headwaters of the Arkansas River.
Already, the Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District,
Upper Arkansas River Water Conservancy District and Pueblo Board of
Water Works are committing between 15-thousand dollars and
25-thousand dollars each to the project. More water agencies are
considering joining them, including Colorado Springs Utilities.
In cloud seeding, particles of dry ice are distributed in storm
clouds to stimulate precipitation.
