A field was being used for a missions training drill.

A simulated hostage scenario was created where students were held at gunpoint. People driving by saw the weapons, and not knowing they were fake, called police.

Pastor Ted Haggard says the training is meant to prepare missionaries for dangerous situations.

Police dispatched a dozen officers to the scene before they realized it was a drill. They say a phone call from one of the program's organizers could have prevented the mix-up.
