Proposed Performing Arts Center

A lack of funds could mean the end of a plan to bring a new performing arts center to Colorado Springs.

Ridgeview Development donated property worth $1 million to the arts community. It's located at Powers and Dublin, on the city's northeast side. The land was for a new Rocky Mountain Performing Arts Center.

But to actually use the property, planners had to raise $2.5 million by this December. So far, only $500,000 has been donated, which means support could be dwindling.

The facility is designed to carry medium-sized events. That's something organizers believe is lacking in the Springs.
