Iraqi expatriates who live in the United States could cast their vote in their country's elections. There were a handful of polling places around the country and many Iraqis drove hundreds of miles to vote.

Five men from Colorado Springs made the trek to Los Angeles so they could cast their vote for the first time in their lives.

They had to register by Tuesday and stick around until Friday to vote.

The 5 Kurdish men escaped Saddam's regime 8 years ago and fled to the U.S. They say voting was an experience of a lifetime.
