Colorado Springs has its second case of Chronic Wasting Disease.
A deer killed by a hunter at Fort Carson has tested positive for CWD.
CWD is a fatal disease that wastes away at the brains of mule and white tailed deer and elk.
The first case was discovered last April.
“We will continue our surveillance efforts in the Colorado Springs area and along the southern Front Range. As always, we continue to encourage hunters to submit animals for testing,” said Kathi Green with the Division of Wildlife.
