(Denver-AP) -- The newest version of Colorado's no-call list now is available to telemarketers and officials say it contains nearly half of the state's two million residential phone numbers.

Officials say the list, which was set up by law just this summer has $968,000 telephone numbers. That means telemarketers cannot use those numbers for their calls.

Telemarketers must pay up to 500 dollars a year for access to the list, depending on their number of employees. Three or more violations are subject to a fine of $2,000 a call or more if the consumer is a senior and the law also includes out-of-state companies.
