The Democrats strike back.
The party will shift the balance of power in Colorado in its favor for the first time in more than 4 decades.
The party will likely have an 18 to 17 majority in the state senate and a two-seat majority in the state house when the legislative session starts in January.
Recent victories have re-energized the party, which has them realizing other future victories are in their grasp.
They'll go after the attorney general and secretary of state's offices and even the governor's office in 2006.
