More than a month after her death, Colorado Springs police have now filed charges in connection with the murder of Beverly Mountz.
Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for 21-year old Robert Nicholas Mountz. He will be charged with first degree murder for the killing of his adoptive mother.
Beverly Mountz was reported missing from her home on November 9th. The next day, Nick Mountz led police on a high speed chase into New Mexico. He was driving his mother’s SUV, but there was no sign of her.
Days later, Beverly’s burned body was found along Rampart Range Road. The coroner determined she died from a blow to the head.
Nick Mountz has been in custody at the Criminal Justice Center on an unrelated escape warrant.
