Hard Times

Target stores have already said "no" and, now, Albertsons supermarkets could be following suit. And it's making for hard times for the Salvation Army in their annual winter charity drive.

According to the Gazette, the group's Kettle Campaign is in trouble this year because Target is no longer allowing bell ringers to solicit donations outside their doors.

Albertsons is considering a similar move. If it goes, the Salvation Army could possibly lose a total of $56 thousand.

Long exempt from a "no solicitation" policy, Target says it stopped allowing Salvation Army bell-ringers to stand in front of their stores because other organizations began requesting clearance to solicit.
