Changing Colors

Still firmly Republican red or bleeding Democrat blue? This year's voter registration drives show the state may be on its way to changing its political colors.

Voter registration efforts show the number of voters registering as Democrats are growing faster than Republicans.

But Republicans point out they still have the edge, with about 36 percent of the population compared to about 30 percent being Democrats.

Plus, the number of unaffiliated voters still outnumbers Democrats with 33 percent.
