A fall snow storm has dumped eight inches or more of snow in the high country, helping ski resorts prepare for their openings next month.
Telluride got several inches of new snow from Thursday into Friday, and now has 30 inches on top of its base. Aspen got nine inches and reports a 20-inch base. On Friday, Wolf Creek became the third resort to open this season, joining Loveland and Arapahoe Basin.
Copper Mountain will open next Friday. The majority of the state's resorts open around Thanksgiving.
