The head of the state Human Services Department is blaming county workers for problems with Colorado's new welfare computer system.
Marva Hammons made the comment while testifying during a lawsuit. She says county workers are "computer illiterate". And she says that has caused many of the delays related to the Colorado Benefits Management Sysytem.
The new system went online is September, and was supposed to simplify the welfare application process. But bugs in the program have caused major problems.
Some people aren't getting their benefits while other have been completely kicked out of the computer system.
But some who are familiar with the system tell 11 News, it's unfair to blame the workers.
