Election Instructions

Thousands of votes have already been cast in Colorado, and hundreds of election judges have already been trained. But things will be a little different on Nov. 2.

County officials are getting revised guidelines this week on how to run Tuesday's election.

Revisions to the election judges' manual incorporate a last-minute court ruling that allows more people to cast provisional ballots. The new rule is designed for voters whose eligibility might be in question.

The guidelines also tell judges how to deal with ineligible voters. Those guidelines were added after the discovery that 6,300 felons were improperly registered.

The revised manual tells election judges that every voter who comes to the polling place must be allowed to cast a regular or provisional ballot. Judges also are told to help voters find their correct precinct.
