Blind people can now vote in privacy in Colorado Springs without the help of a sighted person in the booth.
The county has installed machines called "Visual Impaired Ballot Station," a sit down audio booth. Voters hear a description of each ballot item and vote a numeric keyboard.
Members of the American Council of the Blind Southern Colorado Chapter cast their ballots Saturday using the machines.
Most said it was a great improvement, and basically gave them the same rights as sighted people.
