Name Released in Murder Suicide Case

The name of the man involved in a murder suicide in Colorado Springs has been released.

Investigators say that 40-year-old Dennis Rodgers was waiting at the home of his former girlfriend, Carolyn Seddon on Tuesday afternoon. When Seddon returned to her home, Rodgers strangled her and fatally shot himself.

Rodgers had also tied up Seddon's 13-year-old son, who managed to escape the scene to call 9-1-1 at a neighbor's house. Seddon's 2-year-old grandson was also in the house, but went unharmed.

Seddon was an X-Ray Technologist at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. A coworker says of her, "I think we'll always remember her with a smile on her face. She was just a very positive and uplifting person. "

Seddon's son and grandson are currently staying with relatives.
