Rockslide

By: AP

A rock slide has closed a 24-mile stretch of Interstate 70 between Glenwood Springs and Gypsum.

Crews are hoping to open one lane in each direction later this night -- but it could be several days before all the lanes are clear.

No one was injured in the rock slide. The State Patrol is reporting damage to the road, a bridge and guardrails -- but it appears there's no structural damage.

Crews say some boulders are the size of cars.

Recommended detours will add roughly 200 miles to trips.

Westbound travelers can take either Colorado Nine or Colorado 131 to U-S 40 to Colorado 13. Eastbound travelers can take Colorado 13 to U-S 40 to either Colorado 131 or Colorado Nine.
