Water Shortage Options

Updated: Thu 9:07 AM, Sep 19, 2002

The Colorado Springs city council is considering several options in ways to deal with the water shortage.

Springs Utilities have made a list of recommendations. They include building more city wells, expanding Otero reservoir, cloud seeding, and suspending sod permits.

Springs Utlities says we need to make more cuts in water usage to get us through the winter.

On Tuesday, Utilities will ask the City Council to stop issuing sod permits and reduce outdoor watering to once a month.

The green industry says that would hurt new lawns at a time when they need to establish roots.
