Wednesday is the first day of Autumn, but it already looks more like winter in many parts of Colorado.

There was snow on mountain passes near Vail and Silverthorne Monday morning, and it's expected to begin creeping down to lower elevations. The foothills along the Front Range could see some
flakes overnight.

The National Weather Service is expecting up to eight inches of
snow at the highest elevations in parts of western Colorado, with
more snow expected to fall in Rocky Mountain National Park.

In Steamboat Springs and Craig, temperatures have remained above
freezing, and they are reporting rain rather than snow.
