An annual report on college enrollment in Colorado shows that community colleges are growing at the fastest rate.
The Colorado Commission on Higher Education report covers last year's admissions. It shows admissions statewide rose nearly 3.9% from the previous year. But community colleges reported a gain of 4.5%, or nearly 52, 700 full-time students.
The report says Colorado State University in Fort Collins and the University in Colorado at Boulder both drew about 17,000 in-state students last year, but CU led among out-of-state students.
And CSU Pueblo reported a 2.5% enrollment gain--- the school's first increase since the 1999-2000 school year.
