Authorities tell us a male was injured during the accident. Officers on the scene report the man was leaving the Capri Motel and stepped into eastbound lanes of Platte Ave. when he was hit.

There were 2 guys. They were both standing on the concrete median waiting for the traffic so they could get across. The light changed (green) and they decided to go for it because the left and middle lane were still stopped. The right lane was open though. The first guy made it barely, the second didn't have a chance as he was a split second behind.

I surely hope the guy is ok! But as a witness from a few cars behind (i didnt stop becuase there were already 5 cars or so that did) i saw the guy fly up in the air. for a second there i thought someone had threw their jacket out the window. I just dont understand what he was thinking trying to cross on a non-cross walk in the middle of rush hour and on one of the busiest streets in the springs. i feel horrible for both the ped & the driver. god bless them both
