While accumulating snow has ended for Colorado Springs and Pueblo, snow (heavy at times) will continue north and northeast of Colorado Springs. Five Kids Sent To Hospital In Crowley County School Bus Accident
Colorado State Patrol says five kids were injured in an accident involving a school bus at County Road 11.5 and County Road F, near Olney Springs Thursday morning.

Colorado State Patrol says five kids were injured in an accident involving a school bus at County Road 11.5 and County Road F, near Olney Springs Thursday morning.

The accident happened at 7:12 a.m. involving a 2009 Dodge pick-up truck and a school bus. The school Bus was driving eastbound on Crowley County Road F, had just picked up two passengers and still had its red flashing lights with stop sign activated, when it was rear-ended by a 2009 Dodge pickup.

The driver of the Dodge pickup, 18-year-old Logan Benbow of Olney Springs, was taking his 6-year-old brother and himself to school. Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash and were not injured.

The bus driver, 58-year-old Warren Davis of Ordway, was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and was not injured. The bus was transporting 32 children, ranging in ages from 6 to 17, to school in Ordway. Five of the children taken by ambulance to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

At this time, excessive speed, alcohol use and drug use are not considered to be contributing factors in the crash. The accident is under investigation. No tickets have been issued at this time.
