Dozens of Air Force Academy Cadets helped Kenny Frith, 28, finish the American Discovery Trail Marathon on Monday morning, raising money for the Cerebral Palsy Association of Colorado Springs, but falling short of their goal of breaking the race's record.

Kenny said he loved going fast along the 26-mile path, being pushed by 50 cadets, who took turns sprinting in mile and half-mile increments. Kenny's dad, Gary Frith, said they were on their way to reaching their goal of two hours 30 minutes, but at one point a runner headed off on the wrong path, and that added about 10 minutes to their time.

But the real goal of competing in the marathon with Kenny, who has Cerebral Palsy, was to help raise money for "26 for the Kids," a fundraiser Kenny founded that goes directly toward the Cerebral Palsy Association of Colorado Springs.

Visiting the AFA for the weekend and enjoying my time here. Then reading about the selflessness of the cadets in helping another person reach a goal? What a gift the Academy and its cadets are to your community! Go Falcons!
