Funeral plans have been set for Genesis Sims, the little girl whose body was found buried in a town home in Monument.

The funeral is planned for September 10 in New Jersey, Genesis' hometown, according to Jopetia Garretson's Facebook page. Garretson is Genesis' biological mother.

Genesis' body was found buried in a crawl space of the town home in May. Detectives spent six weeks tracking down Genesis' father, Hanif Sims and his girlfriend Monique Lynch.

Lynch has been charged with First Degree Murder and Sims is being charged with Child Abuse Resulting in Death. The two, both 28, are being held in the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.

If this little girl acted up it's because of the rotten excuses for humans that she had as parents! I'm with Shawna on this one! I'll add that it's pathetic that the taxpayers have to take care of their no good backsides!

R.I.P Sweetheart! Its so sad to know and hear that there are people in the world that would hurt a child. Its remarkable to hear that parents could do this, the onle person children have are there parents. Look at that amazing little smile! I hope these people do life in prison and dewell on what they've done!

Poor little girl! Horrific. Did no one notice her absence? Did you have concerns and lack the social skills to intervene? Just "not want to get involved?" As our social fabric continues to fray, the simple act of introducing oneself to ones' neighbors is becoming a lost art. Try this. Walk up, say "Hello, my name is Ann, I'm your neighbor. What's your name?" No? Too scary? Scarier than being wrapped in plastic and buried alive in a crawl-space? If you know the neighbors and their children, you are part of the community. If you don't, you're not just a silent witness, you're an accessory to the crime. In the arms of the angels, little girl, far away from here...
