Police say a DUI driver may face charges after crashing into the fence outside of a daycare playground.

It could have caused injuries or worse, but a tree helped stop the van around 2:40 p.m. Thursday.

Police say a 68-year-old driver in a passenger van caused the fence damage at the Princeton Academy Daycare at the intersection of Boulder Street and Bonfoy in Colorado Springs.

Even though the daycare's children were outside when the wreck happened, none were hurt. That's because they were playing away from the fence.

Police aren't saying if the driver was under the influence of alcohol or maybe medicine.

As of Thursday night, his name hasn't been released.

@Voice.........did you know the bicyclists? Huh? I mean where do you get your information from? Are you psychic? Do you have cameras all over town and can see everything? Were you there? Did you have some type of relationship with them? Please enlighten all of us on why you think those bicyclists got exactly what they deserved. Seriously do tell. I'll be expecting an answer within 24 hours.

Gail, the bicyclist got what they deserved. Teach them a thing or two that they don't own the roads.

They're lucky no children were hurt. That's scary!
