(Seattle-AP) -- James Ujaama has pleaded not guilty in Seattle to terrorism charges.

His trial date has been set for November fourth in federal court. He remains in custody with a detainment hearing set for Monday.

Ujaama only spoke Monday to tell a federal magistrate that he understood the charges. The plea was entered by his lawyer.

Ujaama was moved to Seattle over the weekend to face an indictment that accuses him of conspiring to help al-Qaida set up a training camp near Bly, Oregon.

Ujaama was arrested in Denver in July and had been held in the Washington, D.C., area as a material witness.

The 36-year-old was indicted on August 29th by a federal grand jury in Seattle.

Ujaama's mother was in court Monday, crying. Peggy Anderson says he's lost weight since the last time she saw him. She says he is innocent and will be fine. His lawyer says he is in good spirits.
