Colorado has once again come out on top in the annual Ski Magazine reader survey. Eleven of the state's resorts are ranked in the top 20 in North America, with Vail earning the number one spot for the third year
in a row.
Snowmass was in third place, Beaver Creek moved up from eighth place to fourth while Breckenridge held steady in sixth place. Aspen was named the best spot for a romantic getaway and moved up to seventh place. Steamboat dropped to tenth.
Terrain is only one factor readers are asked to consider in ranking the resorts. The magazine says Vail does so well because it offers a full resort experience where families can find something for everyone to do.
