A 10-year-old girl was arrested at school for having marijuana.
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says the girl got the drug from a relative who has a medical marijuana card. She was taken from the school in handcuffs.
This happened at Evans Elementary School in Falcon District 49. The sheriff's office says it's policy that whenever they arrest somebody they wear handcuffs.
The girl was released to a parent. She's charged with offenses related to marijuana.
A spokeswoman for District 49 says they have a no tolerance policy for drugs. The girl faces anywhere from suspension to expulsion. It comes down to what the principal deems necessary.
